During the 3 Days Jinja Weekend Family Adventure, families get the chance to explore unique cultural sites, visit beautiful waterfalls, and experience the famous Nile River. From scenic locations like Sezibwa Falls to the historic Uganda Railway Museum and the powerful waters of Busowoko Falls, every stop along the way offers something interesting to discover.

JINJA WEEKEND FAMILY ADVENTURE
Tour Details
During the 3 Days Jinja Weekend Family Adventure, families get the chance to explore unique cultural sites, visit beautiful waterfalls, and experience the famous Nile River. From scenic locations like Sezibwa Falls to the historic Uganda Railway Museum and the powerful waters of Busowoko Falls, every stop along the way offers something interesting to discover.
Day 1 Kampala – Jinja via Sezibwa Falls
Your trip begins with pickup from Kampala as you start the journey toward Jinja. The first stop will be at Sezibwa Falls, where you will take a guided walk around the area while learning about the traditional stories and cultural importance connected to this beautiful waterfall.
From there, continue to Najjembe, a well-known roadside stop famous for Uganda’s delicious grilled chicken and roasted plantain. After a short break, the journey continues eastward toward Jinja.
Upon arrival in Jinja, visit the Uganda Railway Museum, where you will see historic railway equipment and learn about the early days of Uganda’s railway transport system. Later, enjoy lunch in Jinja town before checking in at Home on the Nile, a peaceful lodge located along the Nile River where you will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 2 Waterfalls & the Mighty Nile
After breakfast at the lodge, prepare for a day filled with exploration and natural beauty. The morning visit will take you to Busowoko Falls, one of the impressive waterfalls found along the Nile River. Here you will experience the power of the rushing water and enjoy the refreshing mist created by the falls.
Later, return to Jinja town for lunch before heading out for the afternoon highlight of the trip, a relaxing boat cruise to the Source of the Nile. This gentle cruise allows you to see the exact point where the Nile River begins its long journey through Africa while enjoying views of birds and the surrounding landscape.
In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3 Adventure & Return to Kampala
Start the morning with breakfast at the lodge before choosing to participate in an optional activity for those seeking more adventure. Quad biking can be arranged at UGX 250,000 per person, offering an exciting ride through the countryside trails around Jinja.
Later, check out from the lodge and begin the journey back to Kampala, arriving in the afternoon and bringing your 3 Days Jinja Weekend Family Adventure to an end.
