Day 1 Kampala – Kibale & Bigodi Wetland Walk

Depart Kampala in the morning via Mityana–Fort Portal highway, passing scenic landscapes and tea estates. Upon arrival in Fort Portal, check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided nature walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, spotting birdlife such as Great Blue Turaco, Papyrus Gonolek, and hornbills, as well as primates like black-and-white colobus monkeys and olive baboons.

After breakfast, report to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for chimpanzee trekking. Explore the forest with ranger guides to observe chimpanzees and other primates including Ugandan red colobus, L’Hoest’s monkeys, blue monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. In the evening, visit the Top of the World viewpoint for panoramic views of crater lakes and rolling hills during sunset.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey back to Kampala.
